The Fever is from the (hell) fire, so cool it with water!

My youngest  child developed a fever in the night…

For many years of child rearing, I would run for the medicine cupboard and reach out to “Paracetamol” and “Ibuprofen” to lower the temperature.

The temperature would run its normal course and would last three days and eventually get worn out and leave.  I would give the paracetamol and the nurofen at their allocated times throught the 24 hours.

I had been doing this for the past fourteen years until a close family member died in hospital due to a high temperature he had for two months.

Bewidered doctors were unable to diagnose the reason for the high temperature even after repeated blood tests which kept turning up negative. His daily prescription of paracetamol and fever lowering drugs came to an end a week before his death when the doctors realised his liver was affected and they really couldn’t do anything to help him.

What is the alternative to paracetamol and ibuprofen for lowering temperatures?

The beautiful deen of Islam which ascended in the deserts of Arabia gives us a perfect solution..

Narrated Aisha Radiallahu anhu that the Prophet sall Allahu alaihi Salam said “Fever is from the (hell) fire, so cool it with water!”

Therefore, when your  child is high with temperature, put your tawakkul (Trust) in Allah and make intention of seeking the cure from Allah Almighty.

Take a bottle of water at room temperature, add a little by little onto your palm and wipe over your child starting with the stomach area as this is where the heat emanates from (wiping is like the masah of wiping over socks).therefore, wipe from the stomach and  arms and legs and neck.

Check temperature every 5  minutes till the body is cool.

When the temperature rises again do the same . If the temperature continues after three days then take the child to the GP as there could be another reason for the temperature other than the usual passing bug..

Be prepared to seek the pleasure of Allah swt during the night for taking care of a sick child. You will always feel refreshed when the intention is correct.

Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala reminds us in Surah Zalzalah:7-8

For every atoms weight of good you do, you will see it! (On yawm al Qiyamah)

For every atoms weight of bad you do, you will see it!

Can you imagine how many atoms of good is being done when you are up at night with a sick child..Subhan Allah. So make your intention to seek the pleasure of Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala alone and refer to the Qur’an and Sunnah for all your problems by the will of Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala…

Umm Usamah

The Cure is from Allah Subhana Wa Ta’ala alone

In the name of ALLAH, the most merciful, the most compassionate.

I begin this to seek ALLAH Subhana Wa Ta’alas mercy on the day when all souls are gathered before the almighty and we have no-one to hide behind.

I make du’a that Insha’ALLAH this website educates the Muslims in the principles of the Medicines of the Prophet Muhammed Sall ALLAH u alaihi wasalam and thus revives this sunnah in the hearts of all mankind…ameen

As believers of Tawheed, a Muslim embarks on a tremendous journey of understanding that ALLAH Subhana Wa Ta’ala is the ultimate curer of all diseases and that we musn’t lose hope or feel disheartened when are given a diagnosis of an illness. Instead, we must work on getting closer to our Creator for indeed there is healing in the words (Qur’an) of ALLAH Subhana Wa Ta’ala.

ALLAH Subhana Wa Ta’ala tells us In Surah Al Isra:

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ

And We reveal of the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy for believers…TMQ (82)

And again in Surah Fussilat

Say unto them (O Muhammad): For those who believe it is a guidance and a healing..

TMQ (44)

And it is indeed ALLAH SubhanaWa Ta’ala that heals alone, not the raqi, hajaam, doctor etc. No man has the capability of curing but can provide treatment. The cure is from ALLAH Subhana Wa Ta’ala alone.

And in Surah Al Shu’ara, ALLAH Subhana Wa Ta’ala reminds of the du’a of the Prophet Ibrahim alaihi aslaam

And when I sicken, then He (ALLAH) healeth me, (80)

Our belief in the creator leads us to the hadith of the Prophet Sall ALLAH u alaihi wasalam in which:

There is no disease ALLAH (S.W.T) has created except there is a cure

Sahih Bukhari

So it is up to us to seek the cure. The best cure is the one that will make us closer to our creator ALLAH Subhana Wa Ta’ala, which is to follow the Sunnah of the beloved Prophet Muhammed Sall Allahu alaihi wasalam..
